The patio project

At the moment the patio is in a bad shape. Full of cracks and walls collapsing.

There are plans to renew this and at the moment we are pricing the project.

Hopefully we can start in March. Please come back and see the project unfold!

Glad to say that the project finally started. Here are some shots of the work done on Wednesday 18/05/16 and the block delivery 19/05/16.

With the foundation in place on 19/05/16 we were set to get the block work done.

It’s a very big job as in total over 350 concrete block had to be laid.

But the weather held up the next day 20/05/16 and all blocks went down, including the steps into the garden and the flower throughs at the side edges of the patio.

It is starting to get in shape as you can see on the photo’s below

Next working day is Monday. Hopefully the bridge over the pond will be cast and the patio levelled, ready for the slabs.

Here are the pictures of the next few days showing how the builder (stone mason) Pat stafford with his mate Philip finished off the patio.

So now it is up to me to finish off the pond. It will take a few months before the concrete is neutralized and plants and fish can be introduced!

ButPatricia had wishes of her own. A stone circle in “The orchard” where you can sit at the back in the sun in the evenings.

And it turned out beatiful.

Just the edges left to be finshed by ourselves. Zoom in on the last picture and see the beautiful fossils in theis Indian sandstone. Fanyastic!

Even the weather has been kind and we hope it will stay like this so that we can enjoy it.
